Snow, snow and more snow! A huge shout out to the powers that be that sent us home before the snow started coming down. Our timing was amazing! Took me awhile to get home, but we made it – hope your journey home was uneventful. Enjoy the weekend and we will see what next week brings.
Tuesday is officially our 100th day of school. I have planned some fun activities and I hope a couple of you are able to come in and help me. We will be making 100th Day hats (10 strips of paper with 10 items like stickers and stamps on each), FrootLoop necklaces and 100-item snack. Lots of counting, but students are excited!
Thursday is Valentine’s Day and we have more fun activities planned. The extent of the “party” is decorating and eating cookies as well as passing out cards. We will have a couple of learning activities I could again use help with, so I hope a couple of you are available to help. My ideal scenario for these two days would be to have 2-3 adults come in from 9:30-11:30 each day. Please choose one of the two days, so those who are able to come in have a chance and we are not overwhelmed by too many adults on either day.
We will make Valentine boxes out of Clorox containers (I already have enough) at school on Wednesday. Here is the list of students in our class in case you find time to get cards ready J. I have included Emily’s two aides (Ms. Eowyn and Ms. Corey), as they have really become part of our class. I talked to the students about including them and suggested they make homemade cards if they run out of the special cards they may have already purchased – please do not go out and buy more! You may simply have your child(ren) address all of the cards with “My Friend,” which makes it very easy to pass out, or they may practice writing each name.

As you know, we are supposed to have our accreditation visit Tuesday – Thursday with our faculty meeting Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately, this is all contingent on the weather. We will pray for warmer weather and stay flexible.
- 100th Day Activities Tues Feb 12th.
- Valentines Day Party Thursday Feb 14th – Early Dismissal 12p.
- Mid-Winter Break Feb 14th – Feb 24th.
- Please remember to label your child’s bags, water bottles and clothing. Items left places other than the classroom often make their way to our lost and found bin outside the school office.
- Please send a water bottle to school with your children so they can stay hydrated after recess and PE.
- Our first colds will begin to make the rounds soon. Please remember to keep your child home if they are sick, especially with a fever.
I know this was a lot of information, but I appreciate you reading the whole letter! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for entrusting me with your wonderful children!
